Rhetorical Analysis on Advertisement

This advertisement reveals an impactful and realistic sense of imagery to capture the audience’s attention. By picturing the woman naked it alludes to a sense of vulnerability and explicitly at the intensity of the issue. The woman was sealed into what appeared to be a meat package. This placement of the woman in the package appears to create the allusion that human trafficking victims are treated like meat. The packaging appeared to be very inhuman to give off a sense of disgust on the viewers. The goal of this author of this visual image is to adhere to viewers sense of pathos to feel disgusted by the reality of these human trafficking victims circumstances. The media plays a huge influence on how we view this global issue as advertisements like these are continuously being created and spread via internet. I was able to view this advertisement through the mode of Facebook and shared the image with a few of my friends to spread awareness. The author hopes the viewers empathize with the image and increases awareness of the international issue of human trafficking. It may even be safe to say that the author had hopes of increasing enough awareness to bring change to this very disturbing social issue.
